See . In Mse ... You will not learn anything new .. Faculty is also not that gud ..as far as the placement is considered it's totally depends upon the individual not on the college .. And I had heard from my many seniors that faculty is too gud at gipe .

As far as I know , GIPE has been losing it's value faculty and placements are okayish
MSE again faculty is okayish but it does have good placements and I guess will cater better crowd which is equally important. they both have their pros and cons I guess
For someone who is inclined towards research can still consider GIPE for general eco

I have heard that the faculty at GIPE is not that good.
MSE is okayish, SNU is better.
But placements wise i've heard MSE is better than both.

U had heard wrong that faculty at gipe is not gud ... Infact you will learn new things at gipe .. And placements is also gud at gipe . One of my Frnd last year got placed at Bcg and is having financial economics at gipe .

You should see the other thread of gipe discussions...
One of our seniors (in gipe, suShman) said go for mse over gipe...
I feel mse is better bet over gipe..
As far as course is concerned..
I saw the syllabus. It is more or less similar in both institutes.
And Compared regular faculty too. That is also more or less similar

Pretty sure the concensus is that MSE is better than GIPE if you're looking at placements, if you're academically inclined I've heard GIPE might be a better place though since a lot of people at MSE are looking at getting placed.

Oh and if you're looking at academia I wouldn't totally disregard the newer places like SNU and Ashoka.
