Its a great book, usually followed in Calcutta Univ. It does cover every concept, no problems on that front.
But I think its better if you follow Varian follow by its workbook as that's waht DSE really focuses on :)

I don't know from where this misunderstanding has developed....
I have read the whole book (have hard copy of it)...only some portion of it is useful for IAS economics course...
And this book is no way helpful for DSE entrance not at all.
