Re: POST SAU : Let's discuss !!!

E A Ibrahim
I remember a question (seems to be easy but difficult to work out) that I got stuck.
It was about two price-taking firms producing a homogeneous output. The cost functions are c1= x1^2 and c2=3x2^2. The relation between price and quantity was asked. I think the options were p = x/2, p=3x/2 , p=2x/3 and some other answer. I made a wild guess since I could figure out anything. How did you fare?

They didnt ask which period model was Lewis model, but they stated an assumption that Lewis assumed and asked which period assumption it was and that would be Classical, though neo classical theorists used that assumption often

@Amita Yup, that determinant would be zero, i remember doing something like 1-1=0
For the e^x differentiation question i did it -1/ ---- . It will be wrong maybe :-(
Yes 3 and 35, so 35.
I had not practiced maths lately, so i sucked in the maths part. There was no reasoning ques  Macro was tough for me too and am sure it was tough for all eco students as well.
In the Amartya Sen comprehension type question, what would the answer for entitlements be ? I wrote "Labour ability, non-labour endowments and the ability to buy or sell them "

I wrote "homothetic but not homogeneous" . Dunno if its wrong or ryt :-(

what will be the answer to that homosdascity question? I wrote Zero mean
and that Control Trial method" ?? I remember writing "to test mortality" or something.
And unbalanced growth theory , by Hirschman ryt??

@Anjali The degree will be acceptable everywhere if it is accepted by the highest accredition agency of its respective country. Hence SAU degree will be acceptable near any world university as UGC has given its consent. Plus as it is a cross-country University, it will be recognized more as it represents the SAARC nations, whose supervising member is U.K as well . Cheers!

The individual assumption of "unlimited supply of labour at subsistence wages" is a classical assumption which was used by some neo classical theorists. but it owes its origin to classical times

Re: POST SAU : Let's discuss !!!

Ashima
It had to be P(K)/P(L)= MRTS

So MRTS had to be 1: 4.

I don't remember what I marked.

Anyone?
