Statistics...Correlation

Shefali
A box contains 100 balls. Some of them are white and the remaining are
red. Let X and Y denote the number of white and red balls respectively. The
correlation between X and Y is
A 0.
B 1.
C −1.
D some real number between −1/2 and 1/2
.

-1... Y=100-X

Wheere Y= no of red balls, X= no of white balls..its inverse linear relationship

The answer will be -1, this is because as X increases Y will decrease to keep the sum equal to 100, any correl>=0 cannot be the answer, so it will be -1, this is the simple logic...also it can be done using correlation coefficient calculation...!!!!
