URGENT... Plz help!!!!

Hi all
Plz tell me which one is better IGIDR or JNU SIS???
I have to make a quick decision but am thoroughly confused ... :(

IGIDR without a doubt.
It keeps ur options open. you get a MASTERS OF SCIENCE degree, 100% placement and a very nice place to live!

igidr for sure......it also gives u an option to do phd from dere only whithin 3 yrs aftr clearin msc...

Had it been JNU SSS, IGIDR would have been the only choice. But when its JNU SIS, you take a lot of other things into account like What career do you want after your postgraduation? Research or corporates.If its corporate, go to IGIDR but if its Research, jnu sis is a good option too. I spoke to a couple of people from IGIDR, as much as the course structure is good, its rigorous too and if you plan to take exams like IES etc. you wont get much chance to study for them.. I faced the same dilemma but then I spoke to a lot of other people who told me that you have research opportunities at JNU too.. In fact after gaining some experience, if you apply at places like IMF for the posts of Research Assistant, people with training in International trade are preferred. As far as the placements are concerned, they are not as good as SIS but if you ever think of applying in a Think Tank, A JNU SIS degree will help you too. Plus the course structure is more suited for the IES exam.

I chose SIS...even though I had paid my 8000 bucks.. I was told that we can also take some credit courses from MA SSS and they will be added to our degree.. So there's nothing like not enough papers etc cuz u can always take up additional credit courses to learn more.. I want to go into the government sector or research.. Since most of the prominent think tanks are in delhi and I'll stay in touch with people who are aiming for the same, I chose JNU. If you want to take up a job in the corporate field, go to IGIDR. Otherwise for areas I mentioned above, JNU is a better place.. There's no reason why you would be behind somebody from any other institute if you work hard

No I just filled ISI, DSE, JNU and IGIDR.. was quite a gamble :P Anyway, all the best for whatever you choose  post your decision on the forum for sure :)

Hey what about the hostel in JNU ?? Have u applied for it??

No.. I will do that when I go for the registrations on the 22nd or the 23rd.. I hope to get the hostel :|Made it in the first list.. What about you? Any idea when the classes at jnu start?

I think their registrations keep going till 31 July ... So I guess proper class schedule will definitely begin by August 1
..!!

I think they have girls hostels in JNU .. Infact ... Hostels are many ... So u ll get it for sure ...

Ya they have a lot of hostels.. I hope I get one.. Dont want to face the same shit in hostel allocations as DU

IGIDR would be better, overall !!

However just to add a point, If you are planning to earn some good scholarships abroad then JNU would be preferable.

Also it is only you who can make a wise choice as you have both the options. So you may do better cost-benefit analysis of this.
If still indifferent, look for the course structure and choose what you like, jobs will anyway comes to us.
