b.com student , new to economics . kindly share ur views

Hi all ,

Hope all are doing good .
As the tittle says I am a B.com student who wants to do his M.sc in economics from MSE .
And I wanted to know what are the syllabus for these entrance tests . I know the subjects but the portions is something which I am not really sure off .
Could any of you let me know what can i expect in maths , economics and econometrics and share a few books from which I can study .

Go to the sites of the universities u want to apply. They should have a reading list of recommended books for the exam. Get a hold of those books and study from them specially the mathematical economics part ( best books- Chiang wainwright and sydsaeter hammond). i am guessing u will apply next year so 10 months is a LOT of time to study those 6 or 7 maybe 8 books.

I have already scaned the site of the university but couldnt really see any guidlines regarding the entrance exam other it saying that it would consist mathematical questions , econometric and economics questions .
The books to read from and all is not provided in the site .


And yes it is alot of time , but i think u also need to keep in mind that I have a non-economics background . Hence , I need to cover up the B.sc/B.A economics portions too before actually entering M.Sc .

I have downloaded the attachment .
In the attachment it says "Graduate level economics covering topics in micro- and macroeconomics and Indian economic development." .. I would like to know the topic and theories . As I am unfamiliar with economics . Does this mean I need to study the whole B.SC portions ?

Btw if I may ask , how is MSE ? is it a good school and the pickups and stuff ? and which one over there is good as per placement , Msc. Financial economics or Msc. General economics ?
