Well, back up is important. If one doesn't get through any of the institutes..then take up a job or maybe an internship. Go for courses like CA, CS, CFA. Unlimited options man.

Any idea about the cut off for this course ?
See at present Env Eco is being offered only by two good institutes : TERI and MSE. So you first have to decide that whether you have a taste for this subject. And yes finally , as ViV said , follow your heart !

Env. Eco is a tough subject with very limited scope or application in India as per placement, Govt.job openings etc.

Yes Env Eco is tough. But see ,@Goku, at the end of the day , everything depends upon your interest . You should be sure of what you are taking. And yes , as Tanu mentioned , it has a limited scope in "India". TERI research institute is a hub of such a content , and I guess there are a few other research centres regarding this subject.

Tanu_Jaiswal
yes n Anjali has mentioned somewhere, env. eco is not gona mk us eligible for IES either , And as it is taught in very few Colleges, the teaching line option gets very narrow too. No wonder it gets filled up at Last in MSE  Hey hows Kurukshetra Univ ???

Thank u Jack. what exactly are the benefits of doing internships at such places? And can they be done side by side masters ? or they require exclusive time from us ?

Re: backup plans

Tanu, you have a 2 month summer break b/w the 1st and 2nd year of your masters. So, firstly internships help you utilize that time. Secondly, it gives you some exposure of the field you are interested in and may help in your decision making. Also it may help you in getting acquainted with some statistical tools.
