Hello everyone, I'm a future applicant here and am a bit confused.
Does the system of having half the seats reserved for DU applicants start this year or next?
If it starts this year, wouldn't the cutoff be higher than 40 via the entrance mode? (as it has been 40 in the past I believe, before the system was in place).
I am guessing this is your undergraduation percentage? Wow, that's some pretty high marks! I have no clue but I don't think 60 people have got more than 87% in undergrad economics in DU
can someone help me.In the paper the ques 30, person 1 has lexographic preferences and person 2,perfect complements. The endowment is (0,10) and the box is 10X10.isnt the price ratio=0 a competitive equilibrium. so why is the answer key is saying doesn't exist!! please help...Hopefully 87 is good enough..Yup Undergrad
Px/py = 0 implies x is a free good. If person 1 has lexicographic towards x, then at 0 price he will demand infinite x. Obviously that cannot happen in an economy constrained by 10 units of x. No comp eq exists is correct. What is your score according to the answer key?
Person 1's preferences are lexicographic(x preferred over y), so he will demand infinite amount of x if px=0.
What about Q60, the question with cost functions c1 = (q^2)/2 and c2=q^2. Why is the MC curve below the 45 degree line? Shouldn't the firm choose to produce only in production plant 1 with MC = q?
1.) In order to minimise cost of production, the ratio of the amount of quantity produced by the two technologies is 2:1 which gives a cost function of qsquared/3 . Mc=2/3q.
3.) If they're at 1/3 and 2/3 , the third guy could come in just before 1/3 and steal the first .33 line of customers. When they're at 1/4 and 3/4 , the best the third guy can do is be at the centre but the other two will still have .375 each.
Thank you :) But it is too early to say how the cutoff will be this year. Is it just me, or was the paper similar in difficulty to 2014? A lot of people I know are saying it was easier than 2014, but I don't think that at all. 2014 and 2015 are in their own league, the rest are comparatively easier
