Yeah that will comfortably see you through. Even in "normal" years (even though going by recent trends in 2014 and 2015, this seems to be the new normal) 50+ is a selection.

once you solve this eq:

(nCk)p^k(1-p)^n-k = (nCk+1)p^k+1(1-p)^n-k-1

you will get something like k = (n+1)p - 1


Now k is definitely a whole number, so (n+1)p is definitely an integer
