For Q28 ,
 

I am not sure of the answer coz i am unable to derive a relation between range and standard deviation and skewness. However, i read over the internet that R/2 > S.D and the
'Range rule of Thumb=> S.D = Max-Min/4.
So according to this the answer should be a.
Is that correct?

An economy's output in year 0 is 10% below its maximum potential output and the maximum potential output increases steadily at the rate of 5%p.a after that. In such circumstances , for how many years would it be possible for that economy to maintain a 6% p.a rate of growth of actual output?

a) not possible at all.
b) 5 years
c) 11 years
d) 15 years

Answer to Q 28 is (d), we cannot say which population has the greater range or skewness.

In each of the following situations, Population A has a larger standard deviation (SD) than population B:

Situation 1
Population: A = {0,1}, B = {1,1}
Features: SD(A) > SD(B) and Range(A) > Range(B)

Situation 2
Population: A = {-1,-1,-1,-1,-1,1,1,1,1,1}, B = {-2,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,2}
Features: SD(A) > SD(B) but Range(A) < Range(B)

Similar examples can be constructed to show that higher standard deviation does not imply higher skewness either. Try that yourself.

Q:43 consider a cournot duopoly ..inverse dd function is P=e^-(X+Y) .. *X firms 1 output Y firms 2 output .costs are 0 how much will both firms produce at equilibrium ...m really confused while solving optimization with such kind of demand functions plz help ?
