Please note that the programme preference indicated in the application form will not be
considered for admission. The final admission will be based on the rank obtained in the
CUCET and first cum first serve basis.
Are they really gonna go by first come first basis?
Also, till what rank in the general category can one assume that they'll get general economics?
@halflife MSE is among top five institute behind DSE ISI IGIDR JNU....
IN CASE OF PLACEMENT IT'S RANK IS 4TH (ABOVE JNU)... AVERAGE PLACEMENT VARIES EVERY YEAR... IT IS SOMEWHERE AROUND 8-9 LAKH...
LAST YEAR 80-90 PERCENT PEOPLE GET PLACEMENT IN MSE, ONLY 40% IN GIPE, ACCORDING TO ME BOTH THE COURSES ARE EQUALLY BETTER IN MSE... I M GOING TO TAKE ADMISSION.... LET"S SEE
ONLY 30-40 PERCENT PEOPLE GET PLACEMENT IN JNU BUT AVERAGE PLACEMENT IS PRETTY GOOD AROUND 9.5 LAKH, GENERALLY MOSTLY STUDENT GET JOB EASILY FROM OFF CAMPUS BUT THEY DONT GET SALARY WHAT THEY SHOULD GET, THATS WHY MSE IS SUPERIOR IN PLACEMENT... THIS IS WHAT MY SENIOR TOLD ME.....
Last years threads mention that on the first day of councelling general and financial was offered till rank 70-80, and AQF went till 122. And I know that in later councelling the cutoff for financial came down from marks 182 to 178.
Also if someone has more data about placements in mse or gipe, please share.
IF I WOULD BE OFFERED CHOICE BETWEEN GENERAL ECO AND FINANCIAL ECO, WHAT SHOULD I CHOOSE IN MSE. MY PURPOSE IS TO TAKE PLACEMENT TOGETHER WITH A GOOD FUTURE OPTION....
General economics- Good for both research and placements
Financial economics- better than general eco if you're aiming for corporate placements.
Though this doesnt mean general eco has less placements.
This is what i've heard from seniors..
I have read in previous forum posts that placements in SSS arent good but in SIS its quiet good, but for phd/research SSS is better and SIS is better for placements.i also think that many who take admission in JNU arent there for the placements.
