Prefer gokhale over mse only if u are only getting environment eco at mse ,otherwise mse is better than gokhale in every aspect.even environment eco is not a bad field but it just narrows down your opportunities.i know people who prefer SAU over gipe, even though sau has no placement at all
any idea why ppl prefer SAU over GIPE??? Ive got a good scholarship in SAU and also the fee of gipe is highest( among all these public institutions) .. Shud i prefer SAU if in future I may choose to clear NET exam..
That's what I am thinking too. Gokhale, with its past placement record, is disappointing. Of of my Senior told that if you do well at the end course doesn't matter that much at MSE.
I think she meant that if you do good in your course then at the time of placements you will be viewed equally by recruiters. That is in line with students of gen eco and fin eco.
1. How is placement profile in Companies differ between the students having general economics vs. financial economics?
2. I want General Economics, but at the same time want placement,(so as to have better chance to study further, if i want at that time)..but still then why is it said that Financial Eco. students get better placed?
I think yes, because course is SAU is v. good as I have heard, just due to being a new institution, it doesnot have good placements which is not an issue in your case.
There should have been a comma after do well in my last message. Thanks @dunkindonut for making it clear. And yes, as per what I have came across, course structure of MSE is pretty much the similar for courses like Ae, Aqf and Fe.
One of my friends studies in SAU ,she is currently doing an internship from ministry of finance,so the point is being in delhi helps& gipe overcharges as far as quality of education is concerned ,u can get the same quality or even better for virtually nothing as SAU offers generous scholarships, some of profs of SAU are from dse so course structure is also good
This has got me really confused about joining GIPE, If i don't get through JNU, GIPE financial will be the only option for me. Guys, should i drop an year instead?
I dont think that is such a good idea.. to drop a year.. IMO GIPE financial is quite good.. (remember that it may be a tough course , speaking from experience of studying financial eco this past semester ) , but nevertheless its very prestigious and (monetary) rewarding. If you have more interest in JNU SSS type of course then ofcourse you may choose to not take Gipe financial eco..
many people join the course they are getting and then if after 1 year they are not comfortable/satisfied they give exams for all these institutions again...
