Mphil JNU Queries

Ayushya Kaul
Would any one have any idea how to get access to the answer key for the past year Mphil Eco papers? (CESP)

Any help would really be appreciated (or any response to point me in some direction).

Hi Ayushya,
I want the answer keys to JNU MPhil too.  What we can do is solve the papers, post the answers and discuss our queries. Like its done for M.A

Sounds like a good idea. Have you done the Mphil Eco 2015 paper?

Sounds good to me. I've done 2014 quite a while back. We could discuss that too. I'll get down to 2013 also.

Re: Mphil JNU Queries

Mauli
You solved them quickly! I am still stuck up on a lot of them .

for anyone who wants to add their inputs to this thread here is a link to the paper.

http://economicsentrance.weebly.com/uploads/1/1/0/5/1105777/34_a_m.phil-ph.d._economics_and_planning_ecop_136.pdf

your inputs will be appreciated, people. Though this is a forum for discussions focussing on M.A and stuff but there has been a no. of repeated questions seen in M.A and Mphil. Also, no matter how difficult they seem to be they wont be as tough as the ISI and DSE level questions.
So , it can always help you guys too.

I would like to change my answers earlier posted for 3-7 .

q3) In eqm dp/dt=0
     a(B1+B2*p)=0
                    p=-B1/B2
for a positive eqm none of the above are sufficient. so d).

q4)  for necessary condn of positive eqm  : B1>0, B2<0 OR
                                                               B1<0,B2>0     So again d).

q5) for a unique and positive eqm price it is enough if B1<0 AND B2>0   so b).

q6) If B1>0 then B2 has to necessarily be <0 for p= -B1/B2.   so b).

q7) For p to be globally stable it has to reach its max value so that it can settle down( fall back) to its eqm.
for p to be max B2<0.  so b).

I'm unaware of question 13 myself, its very confusing.
As for question 12:
Year 1: 40 % (35-45 range with error)
Year 2: 45% (40-50 range with error)
Year 3: 35 % (30-40 range with error)

Ignoring error of measurement, GDP growth seems to be uncorrelated with poverty since GDP is continously increasing in 3 years meanwhile poverty initially increases then decreases, which doesn't suggest any strong co relation as per the data. This becomes true especially while taking into error of measurement into account. While GDP may have only increased in year III, we aren't sure whether poverty has actually decreased or not given the range  of the 2 measurements.
Hence, (c).
