mse results are out

@ISI agent: I had a look at MSE's last year's placement brochure. Their general eco placements are better than financial eco placements. I mean a larger proportion of general eco students got placed as compared to fin eco. On the other hand, it is supposed to be the other way round. So i guess GIPE is better for fin eco. But    then again, no statistics and figures are available for GIPE to actually validate this.

if any1 is gettin gen eco in mse nd gipe dn mse is a better 1 for dat but if any1 is gettin fin eco in both institutes dn go for gipe......dats wat my sir told me....

The research project going at MSE is just amazing and heavily funded by MNCs and World Bank especially in the field of finance. The drawback at GIPE is that Fin Econ is comparatively a new course as this year only the first batch passed out while at MSE it was introduced back in 2006-07. Too much confusion! Someone kill me!

One of my friends scored 81 that is the highest I have heard till now.

in 2001-05, MSE and GIPE are ranked above DSE. Seriously, a highly flawed list. And it doesn't really help in choosing between MSE and GIPE as they're occupying similar ranks. I'm going to go with fin eco at GIPE. Can't imagine living in Madras.

I wud definitely prefer Gipe.. fin or gen.. dats oly a personal choice depending on d course u need..  bt wen its btwn gipe nd mse i wud definitely go fr gipe though am from tamil nadu.. coz u wen u have something of a better quality u hav to go fr it.. if u wanna good education nd if ure some south den mse ll be a good choice.. since i got a better institution i already got admission in fin Gipe nd no plans fr mse guys.. though my house is 7 to 8 km frm mse nd my score is 78.. haha..

ok i am in a dilemma!

After calling central university i learned that they are going to put up the merit list next week. GIPE joining is on 15th.
Should i  bunk gipe till MSE results are out  and then figure out a plan or join the college and wait for the list?

to my knowledge....sources from seniors..financial eco at gipe is amazing wid respect to course structure and faculty.fin eco in mse is little diluted and is not purely finance since finance cums frm semester 3...ya dey do not have amazing research but ppl get a lot of free tym to carry on wid research as faculty guides dem..i have paid my fee at gipe for fin eco..and i am gonna continue wid dat..wen d question in matter is delhi school of economics or igidr der is a point thinkin so much...mse and gipe are in par wid each other in almost every aspect..nd fin eco in gipe has a decent placemets..my friend was placed in fidelity investments dat was a pre placement offer as she had interned there too..since fin eco is a new course still in gipe..the institution is takin efforts to give dem d best..and trust me wen both institutes are in par..i cant take chennais climate fr two years...dese are news i got frm three seniors hu are in fin eco gipe...hope to see u guys der...

on a sincere note i request u guys to pls check the course structure wen deciding ur institute.if d course is seriously strong we could do amazingly well in research and if aspirants want to go in for ies....bcoz placements are kinda same in both institutes...

@br. Wen u hav gipe in hand i think u can leave gipe oly if u get something in jnu.. Wen its btwn mse nd gipe i don't think der ll be a confusion.. It shud be gipe according to me..!!!

I've asked all my professors at Hans Raj. They are rooting for MSE because of the faulty, infrastructure and placements. The faculty there are well known economists plus the placements are comparable to DSE. If you want to go for IES then go for Gokhale, otherwise MSE. Cheers!

even my professor at shivaji clg was also saying that mse is better dan gipe for pursuing gen eco......bcoz mse has a tie with RBI and hav better research centres.....
