Hi,
I got selected in both CDS and MSE.And I'm hoping that I may get a selection in Hyderabad too,but not sure.
Which one would you guys recommend as the better?
HAHA And the drama heightens as the results of D school ond IGIDR final list is expected to be out on the 6th as well! Why do they need the originals is beyond me

Hi Shikha,
The cut off they mentioned for general category is 50. I got 69 and my rank is 44th in the general category.I'm not sure of my selection as total number of seats is 50.
Is your name there in the ranklist published? If not u should contact them.
The mail id from which i received the call letter was " bsudha@mse.ac.in ".
Gud luck.
Hey Shikaa,
I made it to the Financial Economics course which was my first preference. A friend of mine who made it to General Economics got 67 but that person's name is toward the end of the list. Also it is mentioned that people who have had ties in the merit list have been given the merit rank based on their performance in Section B of the CUCET paper. So that might a plausible reason as to why you haven't got the call.
@shikaa
See even Vishnu who got 69 got a rank of 44 out of 61 which only goes to support what I have explained about the selection procedure. I hope you figure it out.
guys if a person has name in general economics and has given financial economics as second preference can he still opt for financial at the counselling and pls do tell hw mse is i hv heard frm a senior that the hostels are not very good nd the faculty is okay he rather told me to choose gokhale pls reply asap
I am facing the same dilemma. GIPE vs. MSE. And the problem I feel I am getting very biased and opposing views regarding this subject. I know there is a lonnnnnng discussion running regarding MSE vs. GIPE. But I still can't make up my head! Please help :)
i think ill be going for gipe coz frm wt i hv heard the placements are more or less da same nd gipe is better frm higher study perspective nd chennai weather is truly hell.........also i heard dt mse is keeping the originals?????????? is that true
The GIPE vs MSE debate is quite valid, but MSE is a fast-growing institution. For financial economics, MSE is certainly better, as the fees in GIPE are exorbitant and the course is still new.
In other aspects, I'd say they're both quite good. Hostel facilities too are comparable. Both institutions are growing and improving, so the best way to decide would be to look at their course structure and see what you like better
VaibhavR has posted some interesting stuff about GIPE vs MSE in the following link:
GIPE review by senior Amongst other things, it highlights that MSE is better for corporate jobs. Hope it helps
